How to Choose an Office Monitor
Choosing an office monitor by the work it has to do: 22 to 32 inch, FHD versus QHD, IPS versus VA, flat versus curved, one 27 inch or two 24 inch, plus VESA and ports. Grounded in the AOC range Kosmix stocks.
A bigger screen does not automatically give you more room to work. Three things decide an office monitor: size, which the desk limits, resolution, which the work sets, and panel type, which comes down to who looks at it and from where. This guide works through each, using the AOC range Kosmix actually stocks, and it is honest about where that range stops.

Match the monitor to the work and the desk
Three decisions, in rough order of impact: size, capped by how deep the desk is, resolution, set by the work, and panel type, which depends on who is looking at the screen and from what angle. Refresh rate, HDR support and built in speakers are rarely the specifications that decide an office rollout. Size: the desk gets a vote
Screen size is bounded by how far back you can comfortably sit, which on most desks is not very far. A 24 inch screen fits most setups. A 27 inch wants a bit more depth, and a 32 inch needs a genuinely deep desk or it takes up more of your view than is comfortable. Measure desk depth before you commit to 27 inch or larger, especially where people keep the keyboard well forward.
Resolution: FHD or QHD
FHD is 1920 by 1080. QHD is 2560 by 1440. At 27 inches, FHD spreads the same 1920 by 1080 pixels across a larger area than it does at 24 inches, so the pixel density is lower. QHD puts more pixels in the same screen size, which can make text and fine interface elements look sharper and leaves room for two windows side by side without scaling everything up.
The current AOC range at Kosmix has one QHD model, the 27 inch Q27B3M2. Everything else is FHD, and there is no 4K option in this range at all. If a role genuinely needs 4K, think fine detail retouching, CAD, or native 4K video, that is a requirement this range does not meet, and it is better to raise it with procurement early than to work around it later.
Panel: IPS or VA
IPS panels hold colour and brightness better when you are not square on, which suits shared screens, reception desks and anyone sitting off to one side. VA panels give deeper blacks and more contrast, which a single user in a dimmer room may prefer, at the cost of more colour shift when viewed from an angle.
In the current AOC range here, the 24 inch office model and the 27 inch FHD office model use IPS panels. The 22 inch, the 27 inch QHD (the Q27B3M2, which is VA) and the 31.5 inch curved model use VA. Panel and other specifications can be revised within a model line over time, so check the exact model's current spec sheet before a large standardisation order.
Flat or curved
Curvature earns its keep on a single large screen, 32 inch and up, where it keeps the far edges roughly the same distance from your eyes. At 24 to 27 inch the effect is small, and a curved panel is fiddly to line up next to a second monitor. The curved option in this range is the 31.5 inch C32G2E, an FHD VA panel. It is a solid single screen display for dashboards or general work, not a detail or colour tool.
One 27 inch or two 24 inch
Two 24 inch screens give you more total pixels and a hard edge between reference on one side and work on the other. They also need two video outputs, more desk width, and you spend the day looking at a bezel down the middle. One 27 inch QHD is cleaner for a single task with two windows, uses one cable and less width, but gives you less total space than the pair. Rough rule: people who juggle tasks and compare documents like the dual setup, people who focus on one thing like the single 27 inch QHD.
Specs to weigh once the essentials are set
Several models in this range run at 100 Hz or more, a couple at 180. A 180 Hz panel will scroll a spreadsheet very smoothly. The spreadsheet will still be a spreadsheet. Higher refresh rates make motion and scrolling look smoother, and refresh rate, HDR capability and response time can matter for particular workloads. They are rarely the first specifications to use for a normal office rollout, though. Start with size, resolution, panel, ports and mounting, then evaluate the extras when the role actually needs them.

Standardising a monitor rollout
- Confirm 100 by 100 mm VESA on the specific model if you are mounting to arms, and note the panel weight
- Fix one video cable and one laptop adapter, HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C, so every desk is identical
- Check the model's inputs match your source devices. Some are HDMI only, others add DisplayPort
- Decide stand or monitor arm per desk before ordering
- GST invoice in the company name, purchase order reference on the order
- Stagger delivery for a large rollout
Where this range stops
It covers 22 to 32 inch, FHD across most sizes with one 27 inch QHD, IPS on the 24 inch and the 27 inch FHD models, VA on the 22 inch, the 27 inch QHD and the 31.5 inch curved, flat with one curved option. It does not cover 4K, a wide choice of QHD, ultrawide, colour calibrated production panels, or monitors that double as a USB-C dock. If a role needs one of those, better to say so early. It changes the shortlist, and it may point outside this range entirely.
